You would develop teams to lead the children's ministry (K-6), Jr. High, Sr. High, as well as college-aged single adults. The pastor that God leads to this position would have hands-on involvement in as many areas as he would feel comfortable, but would be highly encouraged to choose one specific focus while providing leadership for the other areas. Major Responsibilities: • To create and guide a high-impact and stimulating environment for students and college-aged single adults so they are attracted to Christ and His Kingdom. • To equip students so they take steps toward missional living because of a growing maturity. • To grow, equip, and supervise volunteer leaders so that they create a unified and positive culture of service to students and college-aged single adults. Qualifications and Skills: • Spiritual gifts of leadership and some speaking giftedness • Self-motivated and highly creative • Attractive personality that feels at ease with students, parents, and young adults • Capacity for multitasking and partnerships with team members • Healthy relational skills • Willingness to simply have fun in life, yet serious about the mission of Christ. First's vision is to create environments that compel people to begin or intensify their relationship with Jesus Christ. In keeping with that vision, the person God leads to serve with us should be willing to do just about anything short of sin to win people to Jesus. A track record of evangelism and discipleship is vital, and you should feel comfortable working in a team environment with other pastors that fosters accountability, personal growth, and mutual respect. First Baptist Church is a 130-year-old congregation that is experiencing a rekindling of the power of the Holy Spirit in the congregational life. Thus far this year the attendance has doubled with over 60 people accepting Christ as Savior. We are experiencing radically-transformed lives, marriages being restored, spiritual renewal and growth in both attendance and spiritual maturity. We are a very diverse congregation, with a wide-range of ages, ethnicities (although predominantly white), and economic realities. We practice a blended-style of worship which incorporates many different expressions including music, art, media, and rhythm. First's desire is for this to grow into a full-time position which will include excellent pay & benefits, but will at the start be a tent-making opportunity. If you are looking for a place to truly make an impact for the cause of Christ and begin to see immediate results, and don't mind hard work to get this started, let's talk. This is an opportunity for a visionary minister to create a next-generation ministry from the ground-up. The youth of Mid-Michigan are waiting for you...
